Born in Mexico City, Andrés Amaya was raised surrounded by plastic arts. He pursued an academic formation on Industrial Design at Universidad Iberoamericana followed by a masters at the Domus Academy in Milan. His work reaches beyond the design of functional objects, working the subjects of erotism, religion or politics in a subtle, polite way with a touch of humor, but just as deep and incisive. He is considered as one of the representatives of the Neo Pop Acid movement and his work has been exhibited at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile of Milan in the Satellite room, at the Messe Frankfurt Loft 4.1, at the Franz Mayer Museum (Import-Export), at Iturbide’s Palace (Banamex) for “Vida y Diseño México”, at the Erotic Art room in Puebla, at the “Rethinking Tradition: Contemporary Design in México” exhibition in Washington and Sonora and in the Modern Art Museum of Mexico for the exhibition “Fabrica Mexicana”

He has been published in several magazines and books such as Sex Design, Young Designers Americas, Diseño México Arquine, Toys for Boys, Love Design and Vida y Diseño México.
