Agustín Santoyo was born in Morelos, graduated from the Centro Morelense de las Artes (CMA).His artwork has many influences and multiple benchmarks from the folk culture, handicrafts, traditional textiles, and the media culture. All this references converge on his artwork through an aesthetics marked by the repetition of shapes, the ornament and the constant use of color. Enjoys finding and collecting everyday objects, breaking into and resignify them; in order to put these as vehicles to new experiences. Agustin, is interested into achieving objects, paintings and spaces create a dialogue between them that brings a new logic to the whole space and the relations around it.

His artwork, has visited different spaces in México and abroad, about eight solo exhibitions and fifteen collective. Got several awards and recognitions and also he won twice the scholarship from the Stimuli Program for Art Production from the State Fond for Arts and Culture (FOECA). He recently participated in some artistic projects from Cataluña, Spain.
