Zubillaga’s work is self-referential, her intended metaphors describe the emotional states that the body manifests. Her work is about the mourning established in her affective links. Her representation of the body used as a boundary between the inside and the outside world, is part of her language. In the past two years, she has been working with the representation of human skin as a leading element from painting and drawing. The skin is understood as a symbol of love and fragility. In her pieces, the representation of flesh is approached to discuss the abandonment of the body, its decomposition, deformation and frivolity with which we treat this element that belongs to us.
