1978)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zacar\u00edas works with an intensive process that combines sculpture and painting. She builds wire mesh forms attached to wooden supports or found objects, to which she applies layers of plaster to create undulating shapes. Through sanding, polishing, and painting, she creates sculptures with the quality of fabric, full of movement and vital energy.<\/p>\n<p>Zacar\u00edas\u2019s resume includes solo exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum and the Brattleboro Museum in Vermont. She has participated in group exhibitions at BRIC Arts, El Museo del Barrio, No Longer Empty, and Y Gallery, among others. Her murals can be found in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Connecticut, Ohio, Mexico, and Guatemala.
