My adventure keeps finding its way within the regular borders delimiting a painting: in it, things happen, stories unfold, traditional means of time and space are disrupted, messages are encoded, mystery can be glimpsed. As it will be clear with this show, I have a certain inclination for risk. A harmless risk, nonetheless, but meaningful for someone who is just a painter. I step into the quicksands of visual narrative, of the anecdote and the metaphor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I realized on the fly that through art I could try to fill the void left by disbelief. Others have achieved it.  These prayers come from looking back at this internal conflict. The contemplation of these paintings requires to run one&#8217;s eyes over them. They are made up of several fragments that may be read in a ascendant or descendant way and each one of them makes sense once this glazing has happened and its content has been interiorized.\n<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"xcollapse('X8481');return false;\" href=\"#\">Curriculum<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"X8481\" style=\"display: none; background: transparent;\">\n<p><strong>Marcos L\u00edmenes<\/strong><br \/>\nBorn April 7, 1957 in Mexico City. He undertook professional training for Visual Arts at San Carlos College with teacher Gilberto Aceves Navarro and then went to Paris as a French government scholarship holder on print for the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts.<br \/>\nHe has excelled mainly as a painter, with fourteen solo exhibitions at different galleries and museums in Mexico, France, Brazil and Peru. In 1990 he received a cum laude at the 6th Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennal.<br \/>\nHis installation \u201cCentinelas del Desierto\u201d (1991) at Chabacano subway station in Mexico City stands out from his work, as does the one he coordinated for the International Poetry Gathering on June 2000 at Mexico City. He has produced several set designs for theater and cabaret; he has been published in various handmade author\u2019s books and has illustrated poetry and children books for the FCE. In 2008 Ortega y Ortiz publishing house printed his literary graphic book \u201cLa Serpiente Roja, vivir con pitiriasis rubra pilaris. As for teaching, he has given several courses and seminars around Mexico. He was the curator for the Mexico City Museum from 2002 to 2005 and culture consultant for the Gustavo A. Madero district from 2005-2006 as a curator of the Pante\u00f3n del Tepeyac Museum and Espejo de Agua Museum. In 2007 developed the theme script for the Nuevo Laredo Museum and made a mural of 80 m2 for one of its rooms.
