The painting-objects presented by Víctor Guadalajara remind us that “we have forgotten that the very purpose of art is to ennoble the human being.” His pieces can only be understood through a reading that requires the introspective gaze of the viewer, while the whole work reveals a rhythmic sensation and a sense of linear continuity, stripped of any concrete spatiality. A strong personality is evident in his palette: the dark colors speak to his interest in imposing inner states and the art-human relationship that the artist proposes through gestural, chromatic, and material exploration.
There is autonomy in the figurative, with texture work and rhythm that free the final result from any naturalism, presenting it as an independent organism and placing it on the same level as nature itself. Guadalajara rhythmically arranges points, lines, thin or thick strokes, organic and geometric shapes, grids, spots, and rich tones that merge into textures celebrating a landscape horizon.
