Observar la obra de Virginia Chévez es trascender las fronteras del óleo y del lienzo para sumergirse en un mundo de total paz, de absoluto silencio, donde el alma se descubre a sí misma gozando el paisaje interior. Colores que se entrelazan en completa armonía con el sonido del universo, matices que nos envuelven en un eterno abrazo para transportarnos al hogar fundamental del ser. Contemplación en soledad que acoge y abriga; meditación hecha pintura que invita a olvidarse de la existencia y entregarse ante la inmensidad del universo.

Virginia Chévez

Born in 1961 in Mexico City.
 
Degree in Design  Graphic Communication at UAM, Xochimilco campus, (1987-1991). Later comes a few months as a listener to the Production Workshop Ignacio Salazar at the National School of Plastic Arts of the UNAM and drawing workshops courses at the same institution (1991-92).
 
Momento Dual,in the Cultural Center in Coyoacan Reyes Heroics (1991, Mexico, DF), is the first of the 17 individual exhibitions he has done so far in her career. In 2011 he presented her book Painting. 22 Collections. Virginia Chévez with a photo tour of her works in twenty Documentas private collections. Her most recent work was presented in Casa Lamm, the Poedra-Verso March 11 to April 21, 2015 for which a book showing the creative and intimate process the artist was published and includes poems written by Dra. Ana Maria Saldivar to accompany each of the works.
 
It has more than thirty group exhibitions in Mexico and other countries such as Switzerland, the United States and Canada.
 
She was awarded the “Young Artists Scholarship” in its edition from 1995 to 1996 and an Honorable Mention in the “Second Biennial Nutrition” in 1997.
 
He  lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico.
